An abandoned Protestant church (Żeliszów, Poland)

Definitely a must see, no matter how unusual this expression may sound speaking about forgotten place. An abandoned church, situated in Żeliszów, a village in southwestern Poland, so simple and grey from the outside, hides behind its thick walls a magical scenery that impresses everyone who opens the heavy doors of the temple.

An abandoned steading (Stare Jaroszowice, Poland)

So many unknown places can be found after making a few steps off the road and going deeper into the area surrounding it. One of such sites was an abandoned steading in Stare Jaroszowice, a small village in the south western part of Poland. Hidden over a thick wall of bushes, it was definitely worth making those few steps and more careful look in order to see it.

An abandoned Protestant church (Stare Jaroszowice, Poland)

It was just a ruin on the way to more famous abandoned place in a village nearby. A decaying church which has already lost almost everything that once was making it so stunning, beginning with its beautiful interior and finishing with the elegant peak of the tower. Despite that there was something charmful about this place that invited to climb on the hill where the church was situated and enter the old ruins.

An abandoned house near the road (Wola Batorska, Poland)

Sometimes, while passing through a random village, it happens to find a forgotten place that only locals know – like this decaying house in Wola Batorska, a village in southern Poland. The thing that makes it so impressive is old wooden architecture, so different from quite a lot of newer buildings around.

Abandoned trains (Krakow, Poland)

I will never forget the day when I decided to turn to an unknown road and check out where it leads. Following it I found the railway territory full of old abandoned trains, and the first thought that came to my mind was that it’s the famous Płaszów Locomotive Depot but later it appeared that it was another but not less impressive place.

Abandoned greenhouses (Vilnius, Lithuania)

It doesn’t happen too often to find an abandoned site like this. A few decaying greenhouses surrounded by wild garden remind rather some secret house in a jungle impossible to go through than a place where plants were grown in a well-organised way.

An abandoned inn (Płazów, Poland)

There’s a small decaying building in Płazów, just beside the road crossing this village in south-eastern Poland. Today abandoned, in the turn of XIX-XX century it used to be an inn. Some rooms seems to be in quite good conditions, but it’s just a first impression that you get entering the building – looking more carefully you’ll find some cracks in the walls and there’s also a big hole in the ceiling in one of the rooms – all these taken together make the building falling into ruin.
