Not each abandoned site sticks in the mind for so long as this decaying church. Seeing this temple on the photos was more than enough to decide to find it, even despite knowing nothing at all about the place. Thus there was no other way than start some research based on very general and not fully warranted assumptions. Luckily the mentioned guesses appeared to be sharp enough scissors to cut the way through the jungle of information and finally reach this church, situated in one Polish village.
Being in Kozłów (Poland) it’s impossible not to notice great ruins surrounded by endless fields. Seeing high concrete walls is hard to simply pass through not entering the site. However, such gloomy view on this great decaying building leaves no doubt that some time ago it was the most important industrial plant in the area and makes wonder what caused its fall.

It was a small red brick cabin near the road crossing one village in Poland. A brightly green ivy covering on the roof, lack of the doors, as well as holes in the windows, let assume that decay had already moved there and invited to have a look on the painful agony of this once beautiful house. Thus, there was nothing else to do but cross a wild jungle surrounding the building and enter its decaying walls.

The thing which made me cross kilometres of forests and fields of Subcarpathia (Poland) that time was a an abandoned Greek Catholic church in one remote village. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately?), when I came, I did not find a key holder at home, so I decided not to waste time and explore the area around. That decision, no matter how quickly made, turned to be a great idea. It was enough to go along the road crossing the village and look around a bit to see an old abandoned cabin hidden among trees.

A white decaying building surrounded by a huge blue fence—that’s what you can find in the centre of Slonim, a town in the northwestern part of Belarus. Its old massive walls suggest that once it was a great place and make it worth crossing a thick jungle of various plants surrounding the site.

Each kilometre of the road leading to Benica, a remote village in Belarus, was worth going in order to reach a stunning abandoned church which was shining in the ordinary rural area like a pearl in a colourless seashell. It was amazing and unbelievable at the same time to see the great temple in the neighbourhood of wooden village houses which remained charming despite being forgotten for years. An old gate in front of the building invited to enter it and have a closer look on the building.

It’s always a nice surprise to find a place you don’t know about before reaching the final point of the trip. I was on the way to quite well known site in the area I was visiting when I saw something that made me stop and turn off the road. As it appeared later, it was worth to do that.
I got to know about this chapel by accident while looking for the information about another abandoned site and that was definitely one of my luckiest accidental finds. There are no better words to describe that, as it does not happen too often to find a place like this. An elegant tower of the building turns it into a real pearl of the area where it is located, and its stone walls hide behind quite well preserved and mystically charming interior.

Definitely a must see, no matter how unusual this expression may sound speaking about forgotten place. An abandoned church, situated in Żeliszów, a village in southwestern Poland, so simple and grey from the outside, hides behind its thick walls a magical scenery that impresses everyone who opens the heavy doors of the temple.

So many unknown places can be found after making a few steps off the road and going deeper into the area surrounding it. One of such sites was an abandoned steading in Stare Jaroszowice, a small village in the south western part of Poland. Hidden over a thick wall of bushes, it was definitely worth making those few steps and more careful look in order to see it.
