A Story about Empty Rooms. Exploring a Beautifully Decaying Abandoned Manor House [Moldova]

Thanks to this manor house I had chance to try travelling by Moldovan night train. In case you think it was because the place was situated in such a middle of nowhere that it was the only reasonable connection, you’re wrong—no trains went to this village in Moldova at all. In my case the only way to reach it was a night train to another village nearby and then a few kilometres walk enjoying the sunrise. No sarcasm here, even if it sounds a bit weird to be in some village before the sun rises. Some spectacular sights from this walk can be found here and here.

An abandoned manor house surrounded by a beautiful park is probably the most famous site in a small village in Lithuania where it is situated. As it often happens when decay takes over the place, the building is empty and grey inside. However, there’re still a few beautiful details inside taking breath away despite the poor condition of the building.

The Magic of Faded Frescoes. An Abandoned Manor House [Poland]

It was a completely accidental find and definitely the most impressive place seen on that trip to Southern Poland. A small manor house despite its simple architecture had such a beautiful interior that it wasn’t easy to leave the site quickly. Thus it’s worth to have a closer look on what’s hiding behind its walls.

The Abandoned Manor House ‘Lost in the Winter Scenery’ [Poland]

Sometimes it’s just a season of the year that makes the place so impressive and lets to see its magic. A sunny December midday was a perfect time to visit an old abandoned manor house hiding in a remote village in Poland. It was surrounded by a huge park, which, covered with a shiny snow, reminded a fairytale scenery, and crossing it was like entering some magic place. All that taken together intrigued to come closer to the old building and have a look on its once beautiful interior.
